Over the weekend of the 18–20 October, two members of the MaWSIG committee, Aleksandra Popovski and Jen Dobson, took part in the 8th ELT Malta conference, where both the Materials Writing SIG (MaWSIG) and the Inclusive Practices and Special Educational Needs SIG (IP&SEN SIG) held strands.

It was a fabulous event, very efficiently and effectively organised and hosted by the ELT Council in Malta. Aleksandra and Jen would like to express their thanks and appreciation to everyone at the ELT Council in Malta for their hospitality and efficient organisation.

The MaWSIG strand took place on Saturday 19 October and included the following talks:

The MaWSIG committee would like to thank the speakers, once again, for their contributions and for agreeing to be part of the MaWSIG strand. Over the next few weeks we’d like to share with you summaries from some of the talks in the MaWSIG strand, including Aleksandra’s plenary: The Three Es of Material Writing.

Our first post in the Malta MaWSIG mini-series will be a summary of Rachael Roberts’s session, Where do you get your ideas from? It will be published on the blog shortly.
